Job Description

Nurse Practitioner - Hematology/Oncology (Outpatient) Adventist Health - Bakersfield, CA Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Hematology/Oncology team in Bakersfield, California. This provider will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to oncology and hematology patients in a supportive and mission-driven environment. Position Highlights Full-time opportunity Collaborative multidisciplinary oncology team Mix of independent patient management and physician collaboration Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their treatment journey Competitive salary range: $180,000 - $210,000 annually Comprehensive benefits package Supportive leadership and opportunities for professional growth Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematology and oncology patients Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, infusion staff, and care coordinators to provide comprehensive care Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR system Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain evidence-based practice standards Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program Current California Nurse Practitioner license Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP preferred) DEA certification and furnishing license required Previous Hematology/Oncology experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Preferred Skills Experience managing chemotherapy side effects and oncology treatment plans Knowledge of hematologic disorders and oncology protocols Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care Join Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center and become part of a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality cancer care to the Bakersfield community.
