This contract position is an exceptional opportunity for healthcare professionals eager to make a significant impact in oncology care while working on-site. As an Oncology NP or PA, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing patient care, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients with cancer. You'll have the opportunity to work on various aspects of oncology, contributing to enhancing the quality of patient care in this vital field. Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of oncology patients Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Collaborate with oncologists and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary Provide patient education and support regarding cancer treatments Perform clinical procedures within your scope of practice Maintain accurate and timely patient records Stay updated on the latest oncology care guidelines and advancements Requirements
  • Position:
    Oncology Nurse Practitioner (Consideration for Physician Assistants)
  • Coverage Duration
  • : June, for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension based on need.
  • Work Environment
  • : Outpatient oncology clinic.
  • Work Schedule
  • : Monday to Friday; coverage involves two providers: one from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and a second from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. -
  • Key Responsibilities
  • : - Providing clinic-based coverage that includes follow-up appointments for established patients as well as evaluations for new patients at 3, 6, and 12-month intervals.
Managing communications with ancillary services, ordering oncology-related diagnostic tests, and handling medication refills. Monitoring ongoing treatment for patients and conducting pre-chemotherapy assessments. Proficiency in performing Bone Marrow Biopsies is preferred but not mandatory. Engaging with both inpatient and virtual patient consultations from the clinic.

  • Patient Volume
  • : Anticipated daily patient load of approximately 12-15 patients.
  • Essential Qualifications
  • : Recent clinical experience in oncology is a must. -
  • Electronic Medical Record System
  • : EPIC. -
  • Required Certifications
  • : Current Board Certification and BLS certification (American Heart Association).
