Job Description

Maintains patient safety and advocacy during the surgical procedure. Verifies patient consent and surgeon orders with the surgical team and PreOp/PACU nurses. Coordinates safe and effective communication between the surgical team, anesthesia providers, surgeon and other ancillary departments. Maintains a smooth and efficient workflow in the Operating Room. Documents all aspects of the Intraoperative workflow including vital signs, medications, supply and implants. Preps the patient using Aseptic technique and helps support the surgical team maintain the Sterile field. Sets up the Operating Room along with the surgical team with the appropriate equipment and sterile supplies adhering to the surgeon's preference card. Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols and guidelines. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple needs or requests and identify and resolve and issues that may arise in a timely manner.
