Week:
36-48 available Position Summary We are seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in the ICU float pool. The nurse will provide care across multiple high‑acuity ICU units, including neuro, respiratory failure, cardiac, transplant, and trauma patients. Candidates must have at least 2 years of ICU experience in a 400+ bed facility and be proficient in Epic EMR. Requirements Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience in a 400+ bed facility (required) Active California RN license (required at submission) Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required) NIHSS certification (required) CCRN certification (preferred) Must pass EKG exam during orientation (required) Must have Pulmonary Artery Line (Swan Ganz) experience (required, hard stop) First‑time travelers accepted if meeting experience requirements Must be open to floating to MS/Tele, PACU overflow, and stepdown units Skills IV therapy: central line care, arterial line management, blood product administration
Respiratory/Thoracic:
ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, suctioning, chest tube insertion/removal (preferred)
Medications:
titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, emergency medications Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring (preferred), 12‑lead EKG acquisition
Neurological:
ICP monitoring (preferred), transplant patient care (preferred), CRRT (preferred) Professional knowledge: infection prevention, isolation precautions, phlebotomy, IV insulin protocols Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in ICU float pool assignments across multiple specialty units Administer medications and titrate drips for critically ill patients Manage ventilated patients and interpret ABGs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR Float to MS/Tele, PACU overflow, and stepdown units as needed Work at least 6 weekend shifts every 6‑week period Work Environment Adult ICU float pool with 24 beds per unit Patient population: adults and geriatrics Interdisciplinary support: PT, respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy, rapid response teams Scrub color: Navy Blue Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
