Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity is ideal for an RN-OR professional seeking to apply their expertise in surgical nursing, ensuring high standards of care and safety for patients undergoing operative procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active and unencumbered RN license Minimum of one year recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) environment Demonstrated proficiency in perioperative procedures and protocols Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills Ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR support staff
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and available Collaborate closely with surgical teams to anticipate needs and respond promptly during procedures Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthetic administration, and overall condition during surgeries Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in compliance with facility protocols Maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety standards Provide emotional support to patients and families before and after surgery This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced medical teams in a dynamic OR setting.
