Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career with a vital contract assignment in the operating room setting, supporting surgical services through direct patient care and comprehensive team collaboration. The ideal candidate will employ their clinical expertise to deliver individualized, outcome-driven nursing care to diverse patient populations.
Schedule:
Day shift 2-8 hour call shifts every 4 weeks 30-minute response time during call shifts
Qualifications:
Active California RN license required Valid CPR and NRP certifications Minimum of three years' recent experience in a registered nurse role At least two years of recent experience in a specialty area, specifically operating room/OR Submission of a completed Operating Room questionnaire during application
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, therapeutic care based on patient and family assessment, ensuring age and culture-appropriate interventions Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to establish and regularly update individualized care plans Evaluate and document patient/family progress, adjusting interventions as needed to promote optimal outcomes Act as a strong advocate for patients and families, encouraging participation in care decisions and upholding their rights Identify barriers and adjust educational approaches for patients/families, tailoring education to specific readiness and socio-cultural contexts Maintain thorough documentation aligned with department guidelines and ensure timely communication among healthcare team members Delegate/assign tasks within the scope of practice to healthcare team members, ensuring coordinated, efficient care Engage in patient care conferences, resource coordination, and shared problem-solving, especially in high-risk or complex situations This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced surgical environment, challenging you to bring your best clinical skills and compassion to every interaction.
