This assignment is ideal for nurses with strong Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, and OR circulating experience who are passionate about providing exceptional care throughout the childbirth journey in a collaborative, family-centered environment.

First to Float to other Sacramento-area facilities
Charting System:
Cerner Roles & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn recovery. Assess and monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor. Perform continuous fetal monitoring and recognize signs requiring intervention. Assist physicians during vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Circulate in the operating room for C-section procedures. Attend deliveries and provide immediate newborn stabilization. Administer medications and titrate labor-related drips, including Pitocin and insulin. Perform neonatal resuscitation as needed until additional support arrives. Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record. Float to other Sacramento-area facilities when required. Required Certifications Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required Experience Minimum 2 years of RN experience At least 1 year of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience (3 years preferred) OR Circulating experience for Cesarean Sections Comfortable independently managing newborn resuscitation at delivery Experience titrating labor medications and drips Skills & Knowledge Labor & Delivery Nursing LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) Mother-Baby Care Advanced Fetal Monitoring Vaginal Deliveries Cesarean Section Circulating Newborn Assessment & Stabilization Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
