Clinical Manager Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Registered Nurse (QA RN) is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of patient care services provided by the home health agency. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards, including Medicare Conditions of Participation, while supporting clinical excellence, accurate documentation, and regulatory readiness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive audits of patient clinical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Review OASIS assessments for accuracy, consistency, and timeliness before submission. Monitor adherence to Medicare, state, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures. Identify documentation deficiencies and provide feedback and education to clinicians. Collaborate with clinical managers and field staff to improve patient outcomes and quality measures. Track and analyze quality indicators, performance improvement initiatives, and patient satisfaction data. Assist in the preparation for state surveys, accreditation reviews, and regulatory audits. Review Plans of Care (POCs), physician orders, and visit documentation for compliance and quality standards. Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Support infection control, risk management, and patient safety initiatives. Provide guidance and training to clinical staff regarding documentation standards and best practices. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with policy and procedure development and updates as needed. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Minimum of 2-3 years of home health nursing experience required. Previous quality assurance, chart review, or clinical compliance experience preferred. Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation and home health regulations. Experience with OASIS documentation and quality reporting measures. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough understanding of home health reimbursement and regulatory requirements. Ability to interpret clinical documentation and identify compliance concerns. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Ability to educate and mentor clinical staff effectively. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and use computer equipment for extended periods. Occasional travel to agency offices or patient care locations may be required. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
