Summary of Duties :

The Staff Nurse II is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides fiscally responsible care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members; following the California Nurse Practice Act, standards set by other related regulatory bodies, and WHHS policies. This position is to rotate in all 3 areas of Short Stay Unit, which is comprised of Pre-Op Holding, Pre-Op Testing and Short Stay Unit.

Education Requirements :

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred or ADN with three years of specialty experience.

Licensure/Certification Requirements :

Current California RN license required. AHA BLS required. ACLS preferred.

Experience Requirements :

Minimum of one year RN experience in an acute care hospital required. One year experience in Medical/Surgical unit required. One year experience working in holding area and phase 2 recovery.

Special Skills/Abilities :

Ability to work productively in a busy and complex environment. Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
