1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced L&D RN with AWHONN Advanced certification and Epic EMR experience for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in California. Details Work setting is an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 320 staffed beds Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Patient ratio is 1:2 Floating required to Mother Baby unit and potentially across facilities within the state Weekend availability required — every other weekend at minimum, may exceed to meet unit needs No on-call responsibilities
EMR:
Epic (required) Scrubs are provided for L&D Requirements Active CA RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (hard stop — must have a passing certificate) Epic EMR experience required Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years strongly preferred Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision (hard stop requirement) Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required for consideration Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles away Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in termination of the assignment Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application — minimal RTO is strongly preferred Block scheduling requests may be considered at the manager's discretion; scheduling requests related to secondary employment will not be accommodated Free parking is available on site
