1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and a broad surgical background. Details Work setting is a 320-bed acute care hospital Assignment to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Experience with all types of surgery is expected given the unit's diverse patient population Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (9:00-19:30), Monday through Friday No weekend requirements No on-call requirements Charting via Meditech Free parking available on-site Requirements Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required First-time travelers must have 3+ years of PACU experience to be considered Well-rounded surgical background across all surgery types is strongly preferred Epic EMR experience required 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination Scrub color for RNs is royal blue Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed; scheduling requests due to secondary employment will not be accommodated Block scheduling and specific day-off requests cannot be accommodated All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
