2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a cardiovascular operating room position in an acute care hospital setting, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience, active CA RN license, and Cerner proficiency. Details Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) in an acute care hospital setting Single OR suite handling an average of 1-4 cases per week, with the room available 24/7 and variable case volume Common case types include CABGs, AVRs, Median Sternotomies, and AAA repairs; Da Vinci Robot is not used for chest cases Staff also support other service lines throughout the week to keep the heart team productive 1:1 patient ratio 10-hour day shifts (7a-3p or 3p-11p) Call is required: weekday call from 11p-7a and weekend call (typically 7p-7a, with 24-hour call available based on preference); requirements are variable based on unit needs 30-minute call response time required Every other weekend (EOW) requirement First to float; floating is typically not required, but nurses with GI experience may float to the GI lab Charting system: Cerner (experience required) GE telemetry system in use Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7 OR techs and charge nurses/team leads are present on the unit 13-week contract Requirements Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted Minimum 2 years of OR/CVOR nursing experience required; travel experience preferred Cerner EMR experience required Scrubbing skills preferred Must be flexible with scheduling Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Copy of driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Scrubs are provided by the facility Orientation consists of approximately 2 shifts on average Holiday coverage is assigned as needed Union environment; permanent staff are described as generally friendly Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered First-time travelers are not explicitly welcomed; travel experience is preferred
