Specialty:
Cardiology Requirements Active RN license for the state of California (or applicable state-specific RN license). Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Cardiology, Telemetry, ICU, or related cardiac specialty. BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred. Proficient in cardiac pharmacology, common cardiac conditions, and telemetry/EKG interpretation. Ability to function in a fast-paced setting and respond quickly to acute cardiac changes. Core Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments: monitor rhythms, vitals, and detect early signs of deterioration. Administer and monitor cardiac medications (antiarrhythmics, vasodilators, anticoagulants), assess therapeutic response and adverse effects. Operate and interpret cardiac monitoring equipment (telemetry, EKG/ECG, Holter, stress test data where applicable).
Assist with cardiac procedures:
cardioversion, stress testing, cardiac catheterization prep/recovery, and device placement support (pacemakers, stents).
Provide post-procedure care:
assess perfusion, circulation, bleeding, and overall recovery status. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions. Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record. Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. Respond rapidly to cardiac emergencies; participate in rapid response and code blue situations.
