Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONSReporting to the Administrative Director, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.

Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner.
Applicable for the populations checked:
Adult (x) Geriatric (x).Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care interventions appropriately to ensure optimal patient care.

Knowledgably administers medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patients response. Assess patients conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care Monitors physiological, cognitive status of patients and timely report changes to physicians and/or other appropriate personnel, includes follow-up on lab/test results.

Documents in a clear, complete, legible, organized and timely manner, demonstrating critical thinking skill in the nursing process.

Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area.

Participates in quality and performance improvement programs

Minimum Education (Indicate minimum education or degree required.)Graduate of RN Training ProgramCompletion of a basic EKG coursePreferred Education (Indicate preferred education or degree required.)Prefer Bachelors Degree in NursingMinimum Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate minimum years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Must be able to work in a union environment.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate preferred years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.

One (1) year experience in ICU setting preferred.
