Merced, CA Job Details PRN | Per diem $45 - $60 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Patient monitoring Patient assessment HIPAA Basic life support Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and outpatient clinics. This role requires excellent clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for supporting patients and their families. Duties Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and documentation of medical history. Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes. Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge instructions. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in infection control measures and ensure a safe environment for patients. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. Skills Candidates should possess a variety of skills to excel in this role, including but not limited to: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as kinser. Experience in critical care settings (ICU, PICU) and emergency medicine. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medication administration. Familiarity with long-term care practices, including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and geriatrics. Ability to perform IV infusion, venipuncture, catheterization, basic life support, blood draw, foley catheter management Strong patient assessment skills with experience in acute pain management and physical examinations. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics and individuals with developmental disabilities. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique.
