A QS RN Consultant ensures the delivery of nursing services in the facilities in collaboration with the administrator and director of nursing services, and other departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures that the facility is in compliance with the organization's policy and procedures and complies with all state regulations. Assists in the Development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while guiding compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Participates in management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns Performs quarterly audits including resident charts, medication room and QA interventions. Regularly monitors wound care provided in the facilities to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness. Monitors the careful and efficient use of supplies, checks medical supplies and see that supplies have been ordered as appropriate. Attends meetings as required; works cooperatively with members of the management and care team, maintaining effective interdepartmental and interpersonal relations with residents, staff, and visitor's. Reviews incident reports and follow up notes regularly to ensure state reportable incidents are being reported, proper procedure is being followed and documented. Addresses complaints and resolves problems as needed. Participates in care conferences as needed or requested by facility. Performs comprehensive assessment on potential residents. Provides clinical training and support to all staff. Performs regular review of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) reports to ensure compliance in the medication room. Performs monthly supervisory visits to all medication passers as needed in states that allow for RN delegation. Assist in hiring, training, planning assigning and directing the work of facility staff as needed. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the state of CA Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and correspondence. Must have a valid driver's license. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation, and interaction with coworkers. Ability to travel 75% of the time. 3 years Quality Service Consultant experience Minimum of 5 years in a Skilled Nursing Facility Previous 5 years Director of Nursing Experience PCC experience is preferred
