Job Description:
Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing advanced nursing care in the pre-op clinic to in-patients pre-scheduled for surgeries. Duties include, but are not limited to, assessing patient's health status, performing physical exams, identifying significant health risks, and ordering treatments and diagnostic tests under Standardized Protocols Procedures. Communicates clinical findings to, and works collaboratively with, physicians to develop patient treatment and education plans. This position reports to the department director and must meet credentialing requirements established for nurse practitioners. Experience Must demonstrate interpersonal relations and critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently. Must be eligible to be an approved Medicare Provider. Two years previous experience as a nurse practitioner preferred. Experience with pre-op assessment preferred. Education Master's Degree in Nursing required- Exception Nurse Practitioners' qualified or certified as an NP in California or any other state prior to January 1, 2008. Licensure/Certifications Must be currently licensed in California as an NP and be certified as a nurse practitioner by a recognized national certifying body that has established standards for nurse practitioners to practice in the State of California. Certification from either ANCC or AANP as a nurse practitioner. Furnishing license issued by the Board of Registered Nursing required American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.

Position Type:
Per Diem Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $100.73 to $134.72 The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
Hourly Evening Shift Differential:
$5.41
Hourly Night Shift Differential:
