Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Perform gastric lavage procedures as needed
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with family planning and reproductive health services
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, including cognitive assessments and behavioral management strategies
- Provide care and support for patients with ostomies, including education on self-care and management
- Assist with medical imaging procedures, such as X-rays and ultrasounds
- Perform spinal taps under the direction of a physician
- Manage airways and provide respiratory support as needed
Skills:
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures and techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper body mechanics
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments accurately and safely
