In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatments in an acute care setting. Your expertise will help ensure optimal patient outcomes through precise assessment, compassionate care, and adherence to clinical protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, utilizing advanced medical technology and evidence-based practices to deliver exceptional care. Duties Administer dialysis treatments, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, ensuring safety and comfort for each patient Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, laboratory evaluations, and physiological monitoring during procedures Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent complications and ensure patient safety Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, post-treatment care, and lifestyle adjustments Monitor for signs of acute pain, adverse reactions, or complications during treatments and respond promptly Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, adhering to HIPAA regulations Qualifications Valid nursing license (RN) with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Proven experience in dialysis nursing, preferably in acute care or hospital settings with Level I or Level II trauma center experience Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to renal function and fluid management Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and patient tracking Experience working with individuals with complex health needs including those with developmental disabilities or memory care requirements Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, catheter care, and sterile procedures confidently Excellent communication skills for patient education, triage assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration Join us to be part of a compassionate team committed to delivering high-quality acute dialysis care.
