The Role:
Director of Nursing (DON) to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Service Department. You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, maintain the highest degree of quality care, and work closely with our Administrator and Medical Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Excellence:
Develop, implement, and maintain ongoing quality assurance and nursing care programs.
Staff Leadership:
Assign appropriate RN/LVN and CNA ratios, monitor absenteeism, and conduct daily rounds to ensure high standards of care.
Regulatory Compliance:
Participate in facility surveys, assist the QA&A Committee with plans of correction, and ensure fluency in Title 22, OBRA, Medicare, and Medi-Cal guidelines.
Admissions & Care Planning:
Oversee the screening of admissions, monitor medication passes, review nurses' notes, and chair the Care Plan Committee meetings.
Administrative Duties:
Perform necessary administrative charting, complete medical forms, and serve on various facility committees.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a RN within the last five years in a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
Licensure:
Current, unencumbered, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
Education:
Minimum of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
Compliance Knowledge:
Deep understanding of long-term care laws, regulations, and guidelines. Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background investigation.
