Job Description:
The Treatment Nurse Provides primary skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of residents' attending physicians, Director of Nursing or Medical Director of facility with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin orders. The Treatment Nurse assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet physical and psychosocial needs of resident, in accordance with established medical practices, governmental requirements and Company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders and primary and secondary lesions. Provides input on assessment and diagnostic services to residents using techniques including observation, inspection and palpation. Completes weekly skin assessment of resident and records results with assessment. Provides treatment and therapeutic services per physician orders. Ensures that residents with decubitus ulcers receive appropriate prophylaxis and treatment, such as daily inspection, turning and activity, a well-planned diet, and maintenance of clean, dry bed. Provides information to resident and family members on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve general health and psychosocial status of resident. Provides written and/or oral reports and recommendations to attending physician and completes weekly skin reports for DON.
Qualifications:
Previous nursing or healthcare experience preferred Must have an active license in vocational nursing
