Summary New Dawn Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our medical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed or entry-level LVN looking to gain experience in behavioral health and addiction medicine. This position is primarily responsible for medication management, medication ordering, and maintaining accurate medication records while working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager. This role does not include case management or comprehensive nursing assessments, allowing the LVN to focus on safe and efficient medication administration. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and company policies. Prepare, organize, and maintain daily medication administration records (MARs). Order prescription medications and over-the-counter supplies through approved pharmacies and vendors. Monitor medication inventory and maintain adequate stock levels. Receive, verify, label, and properly store incoming medications. Complete medication counts at shift changes and maintain controlled substance documentation. Document medication administration accurately and in a timely manner. Observe clients for medication side effects or adverse reactions and promptly notify the Nurse Manager or provider. Communicate medication-related concerns with providers, pharmacies, and nursing leadership. Maintain compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies. Assist with medication audits and inventory reconciliation. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready medication rooms at all sites. Provide basic medication education to clients as directed by the nursing team. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Active California LVN, or LPT license At least one year of experience in detox, residential treatment or related healthcare setting preferred. Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and maintain personal auto insurance coverage. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required. Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work well and quickly under pressure both individually and as part of a team. Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills.
