Job Description
Overview Hematology Oncology Specialists is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with IV experience to join our healthcare team. This is a full time position. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients requiring chemotherapy infusion therapy. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Being able to start IVs efficiently and able to manage IV drips Perform dosage calculations, mix chemotherapy, and administer utilizing the 5 patient rights Monitor patients during infusion treatments, assessing vital signs and overall condition. Administer IV iron infusions Perform Phlebotomies for patients with polycythemia/hemachromatosis Ability to give subcutaneous and IM injections Being able to respond quickly in emergency situations if patients have an allergic reaction to treatment Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide education to patients and their families regarding medication administration and treatment protocols. Maintain accurate patient records using paper charting Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California Experience in infusion therapy, including IV insertion and medication administration. Previous experience in outpatient oncology preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
