Oncology Registered Nurse (Full-Time)

Oxnard, CA About Us Our busy Hematology/Oncology clinic in Oxnard, CA is dedicated to delivering exceptional cancer care with compassion, expertise, and innovation. Position Overview We are seeking a per diem, experienced Oncology Registered Nurse who values continuous learning, teamwork, and compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing outstanding service to our patients and their families throughout every phase of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Schedule No weekend shifts; extended weekday hours for work/life balance Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Comprehensive health benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan with employer contribution Opportunities for continued education and professional development Key Responsibilities Administer chemotherapy, blood products, injections, and other oncology treatments safely and accurately Prepare and mix medications as required for infusion or injection Assess patient health status, monitor for side effects, and intervene as necessary Educate patients and families about cancer diagnosis, treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, and post-treatment care Collaborate closely with providers and the multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver individualized treatment plans Accurately document all nursing interventions and patient responses using electronic health records (EHR) Provide psychological support, advocate for patients, and serve as a key resource for patient needs throughout the cancer care journey Participate in ongoing clinical research and trials, supporting evidence-based advancements in oncology Maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor at all times, promoting a positive and supportive environment Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing required (Master's in Nursing a plus) Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California Minimum two (2) years oncology nursing experience in a clinical setting Demonstrated experience with chemotherapy administration, patient assessment, and management of oncology side effects Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred Familiarity with current cancer treatment protocols, clinical research studies, and EHR systems Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills Committed to maintaining professionalism, a well-groomed appearance, and respectful communication with all patients, families, colleagues, and visitors
Pay:
$68.00 - $70.00 per hour
