• Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse II/III to join their Quality Improvement team in Riverside.

The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing services provided by external behavioral health service providers. Duties include delivering training to peers and staff, supporting the development and implementation of training materials, and providing a variety of nursing services under the Employee Health Program. The role also requires strong computer proficiency, the ability to meet established deadlines, and effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team environment. A valid CA driver's license is required.

The most competitive candidate will demonstrate excellent written communication skills and the ability to quickly learn and utilize software platforms used in training development. Strong leadership skills are essential, including the ability to take initiative and support team members in project-based work. Experience in developing training content and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams is highly desirable.

Required certifications and licenses: A valid CA Registered Nurse license.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.

Work schedule: 9/80

• 80 hours worked over nine (9) days in a two-week period, with every other Friday off.

Registered Nurse II = $44.5815

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Within the full scope of the Nurse Practice Act, assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations of, and prepare patients for, medical treatment.

• Assist physicians in administering treatments and in performing medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations.
• As directed, administer prescribed treatment and medications including dispensing as ordered to patients; chart treatment of patients and record and report significant changes in condition and general progress of patient.
• Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding special medical problems and/or proper healthcare methods; prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports.
• Instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; may transcribe physician's orders to working records.
• May provide orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical students, ROP and nursing students.
• May participate in quality assurance reviews; may act as a team leader or relief charge nurse.
• Assign and monitor the work of subordinate nursing personnel; participate in committee activities.
• May triage patients by reviewing admission charts and merging patients into the patient assignment or clinic flow at the appropriate time and place.
• May testify in court as to the client's mental and physical condition; may recommend initiating conservatorship investigations when assigned to the mental health setting.
• May coordinate and monitor patients through the hospitalization process utilizing physicians, primary care nurses, and third-party payors to maintain quality care and fiscal responsibility.
• May review the post hospital care plan with the patient/family, establishing a contact regarding time frames and responsibilities; follow plan through a discharge.
