Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Care ( Part-Time, Long-Term Temporary Position) The Rohnert Park Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our experienced oncology team in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This is a Part-Time, long-term temporary position requiring availability two days per week, Wednesdays and Fridays . Position Summary The successful candidate will collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality nursing care and support to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey. This role is ideal for an energetic, motivated professional who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients. Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and potential side effects. Prepare patients for physical examinations and treatment-related procedures. Assist physicians with clinical procedures as needed. Maintain clear and compassionate communication with patients and caregivers. Monitor patient status and document care appropriately. Support the multidisciplinary medical team in all aspects of patient care. Perform other related nursing duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience; oncology experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment. Spanish-speaking skills are preferred. Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and commitment to patient-centered care. About Our Center Rohnert Park Cancer Center is a stand-alone, private cancer treatment facility dedicated to providing state-of-the-art radiation oncology services. We offer advanced external beam radiation therapy treatments, including: Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) Conventional 2D and 3D Treatment Planning Computed tomography (CT) simulations are performed on our dedicated in-house CT scanner. Our four-physician practice treats approximately 70 patients each day in a modern, welcoming environment featuring progressive interior design and floor-to-ceiling windows.
