Individuals in this role thrive in a busy environment, maintain professionalism, while always providing exceptional patient care. Endoscopy Center RN will be responsible for caring for adult and elderly patients. The RN assumes all registered nurse responsibilities in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act and policy and procedure practice guidelines at Monterey Bay Endoscopy center LLC. Pre-procedural education and planning Conducts narcotics count at the beginning and end of the day Ensures all equipment is functioning properly Works with all members of the healthcare team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout the endoscopic procedure and recovery Reviews the patient chart and history to assure that the necessary pre-op evaluation has been completed Uses IV skills and dexterity to place IVs, push IV medication, discontinue IV Ensures that all Patient Consents forms are completed Conducts post procedure sedation monitoring, teaching, and discharge instructions Identifies and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety in the facility Provides ongoing information to the patients to assure that they understand all procedures and feel as comfortable as possible Assists in the orientation of new employees Supervises CNAs, Medical Assistants, and other unlicensed employees Conducts assessment and monitoring patients before, during, and post procedure Administers conscious sedation and monitors patients throughout the procedure Handles specimens
- logging, labeling and end of day check Assists in cleaning patient post-procedure and providing clean blankets/sheets for transport with dignity Appropriate and professional communication with MDs, CRNAs, and all MEBC staff Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations Maintains a clean environment
- help with changing sheets, cleaning beds, disposing sharps containers and biohazardous materials in the appropriate receptacle Willing to cross-train in other tasks and duties as needed Competencies Adaptable and flexible Communication

- 4 procedure rooms, 12 beds Physical demands Ability to stand and/or walk 80-90% of an eight-hour day Ability to assist with patient transport, and transferring patients from bed to chair Has visual and hearing acuity to perform job-related duties Ability to lift 30lbs Travel required Will be assigned a "home" location (either Monterey or Salinas) but must travel to the other location up to 2 times per pay period as needed Required education and experience Current unrestricted CA RN license or IPRN Graduate of accredited School of Nursing Computer skills and efficiency New grads will be considered.
Must have complete clearance of Practice-administered background check Current

Current TB / Flu Preferred education and experience Experience in outpatient facility
