Synergy Surgery Center of San Diego is a brand new outpatient surgery center in the Mission Valley area that specializes in Orthopedics. The entire center is new construction with all new equipment and more than 20 different orthopedic surgeons. The Center features 5 ORs and with spacious areas for both pre-op and PACU. The PACU will have 3 suites for 23 hour stay if needed. We look forward to building our brand new team of nurses, techs and business office personnel!
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
Pay Range:
$45.00 - 60.00/hour (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications and experience. Qualifications:
Current CA Nursing License Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Minimum 2 year experience in a hospital setting Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative. Excellent communication skills Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics Excellent teaching skills Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
