Job Description
Hyperbaric Medical Services (HMS), based in San Francisco, California, is a corporation providing patient care and consulting services in the fields of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound care. HMS is closely affiliated with Hyperbaric Consultants Medical Group, a team of predominantly sub-specialty trained, certified and boarded hyperbaric/wound care physicians. With over 30 years of cumulative experience in the fields of hyperbaric medicine and wound care, HMS brings a solid platform of clinical, administrative and marketing expertise. This position would provide clinical and administrative support for the practice of several wound care/hyperbaric medicine physicians and a pulmonary/sleep physician. The administrative/supervisory duties of this position are as follows:
- Ensures that all billing and reimbursement issues are addressed quickly and appropriately according to company policies.
- Responsible for direct oversight and continual validation of EMR database for completeness and accuracy.
- Functions as an advocate for all patients in the program.
- Ensures appropriate patient care plans and regimens are in place and followed. Clinical duties of this position are as follows:
- Collaborates with wound care physicians to provide evidence-based wound care treatments to patients.
- Identifies proper candidates for advanced treatments and advocates for the use of those products as appropriate.
- Case manages wound care patients to include identification of non-progressing wounds and advocates for a change in treatment.
- Provides patient education on proper wound healing techniques including nutrition, offloading, elevation, and use of assistive devices.
- Responsible for maintaining of appropriate tissue logs with the use of human tissue products.
- Identifies and advocates for proper diagnostic procedures including lab work and imaging.
