First Aid Certification Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse is a direct-care provider who has the technical proficiency, and excellent observation skills necessary for initiating, performing and completing assigned duties in delivering comprehensive practical nursing care in a drug and alcohol detox residential care setting.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct admissions of clients including healthcare assessments, patient vitals and
COWS/CIWA.
  • Provide initial and ongoing patient care assessments and understand patient health goals.
  • Conduct ongoing health screening for clients including patients exhibiting withdrawal symptoms and report finding to medical physician.
  • Based on facility licensing and scope of work, inventory, monitor, dispense and/or administer medication.
  • Oversee medication education, management, and documentation in EMR.
  • Adhere to agencies policies and procedures and inform supervisors of any changes in behavior or condition.
  • Maintain a safe working environment that meets federal, state, and local licensing requirements.
  • Follow patients' medical treatment plans, and review with patients to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Receive and transcribe orders from Medical Director and/or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Schedules appointments and follow-ups with outside agencies for medical, specialty, and diagnostic visits.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and commitment to participants.
  • Knowledge and experience with Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) and/or Detox.
  • Excellent active listening and crisis intervention skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, including proficiency in balancing direct service responsibilities with data management responsibilities.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Additional experience with Electronic Health records, KIPU preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
Requirements:
  • Current and active California LVN license.
  • One year of experience in a residential treatment setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Current TB/PPD results. Current Employment Health Screen/Work Clearance.
Pay:
$30.00
