Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic maternity care team. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to women throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in obstetric nursing, with a strong foundation in acute care, trauma medicine, and emergency response protocols. You will collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and support staff to facilitate smooth labor processes and positive birth outcomes.

Pay Rate:

$3500/wk. (36hrs.) + $200 Travel Bonus Duties Monitor and assess maternal and fetal vital signs continuously during labor using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications including pain management techniques like epidurals and assist with procedures such as suturing and sterile dressing changes. Support labor progression through non-pharmacological methods and assist with interventions like IV infusion, catheterization, and oxygen therapy. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans aligned with NICQA standards for obstetric care. Educate patients on childbirth processes, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding techniques, and newborn care. Manage emergency situations effectively by implementing airway management, ventilator support, and responding to obstetric complications such as postpartum hemorrhage or fetal distress. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or jurisdiction. Minimum of three years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery within a hospital setting; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is advantageous. Demonstrated expertise in obstetric procedures including suturing, catheterization, IV insertion, and aseptic technique. Strong knowledge of physiology related to pregnancy, labor progression, neonatal assessment, and postpartum care. Critical care experience including ICU or emergency medicine is highly desirable. Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively while maintaining compassionate patient-centered communication. Knowledge of infectious disease control practices relevant to obstetric environments. Excellent documentation skills ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
