1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Ventura County requiring at least 3 years of IR experience, conscious sedation skills, and the ability to respond to on-call within 15 minutes. Details 13-week contract in a hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM
  • 3:30 PM On-call required every other weekend, Friday 4:30 PM through Monday 8:00 AM Must be available to respond on-site within 15 minutes when on call Patient population spans pediatrics through geriatrics 1:1 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio Approximately 3-10 procedures performed per nurse per day Unit has one angiography suite; cases are primarily trauma-related and standard IR procedures (no Neuro IR) Two nurses are typically present per procedure, each taking a distinct role (e.
g., circulating and sedation) Floating to PACU/Recovery may be required as needed Occasional floating to a nearby affiliate IR location (approximately 15 minutes away) may be required, though rare Requirements Active CA RN license required Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required TNCC required; TCAR preferred Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience required Conscious sedation experience required Additional Information Primary responsibilities are in IR, with some floating to Nuclear Medicine Cross-training to PACU is available for interested candidates Must reside within 15 minutes of the facility to meet on-call response requirements First-time travelers are welcome to apply Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
