Job Description

Within a well-equipped Emergency Department in a community hospital, the Emergency Room Nurse will care for patients across the lifespan, managing walk-in urgencies and high-acuity cases with dedicated triage, fast-track spaces, pediatric-friendly rooms, and advanced resuscitation bays. The Emergency Room Nurse will leverage immediate access to radiology and laboratory services, standardized stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma protocols, and coordinated throughput processes that keep door-to-treatment times competitive while sustaining patient-centered care. Reporting to an Emergency Department Nurse Manager and supported by an experienced Charge Nurse, the Emergency Room Nurse will collaborate with board-certified emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and case management in a friendly, diverse, and highly skilled team. The Emergency Room Nurse will execute rapid ESI triage, stabilization, IV therapies, medication administration, ECG acquisition, code and trauma readiness, evidence-based documentation, family communication, and safe handoffs, while enjoying mentorship, leadership visibility, shared governance, and flexible scheduling that promote professional growth. Surrounded by the natural beauty and cultural energy of Central California, the Emergency Room Nurse will enjoy easy access to the Sierra Nevada foothills, vineyards, farm-to-table cuisine, and national parks like Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon for hiking, climbing, camping, and kayaking.
