Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) Consultant supports the health and wellness of individuals served by Redwood / People's Care by providing clinical oversight, nursing services, and staff training across residential and community-based settings. This role partners closely with interdisciplinary teams, families, physicians, and Regional Centers to ensure quality care, regulatory compliance, and person-centered outcomes aligned with each Individual Program Plan (IPP). Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide nursing oversight and administer medications in accordance with physician orders and the Five Rights of Medication Administration Conduct medication audits for each medication cycle, ensuring adherence to the Eight Rights of Medication Administration Attending medical appointments and collaborating with physicians regarding health status, care needs, and treatment changes Perform or observe g-tube feedings and intramuscular injections as required Monitor and assess individuals following seizures, injuries, or changes in condition, and documenting findings appropriately Conduct physical assessments including vital signs and head-to-toe evaluations Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and promptly report health concerns, injuries, or behavioral changes Develop, implement, and monitor Restricted Health Care Plans (RHPs) ; train staff and ensure compliance Participate in IPPs, transition meetings, quarterly reviews, and clinical staff meetings Represent People's Care at Regional Center and client-related meetings Provide clinical training and guidance to LVNs, LPTs, DSPs, and other care staff Support individuals during community outings and recreational activities as needed Perform other related duties in support of program and individual needs Work Environment & Physical Requirements Residential home and community-based environments Occasional outdoor work and travel Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds occasionally Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving, and other physical activities as necessary Qualifications Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing Minimum of 3 years RN experience in a residential care or related setting At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities Current CPR/First Aid and CPI certifications preferred if not we can provide DSP I and DSP II certifications are preferred. Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, including background screening Must be at least 21 years of age with valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance to drive for Redwood / People's Care Benefits
