Job Description

Category Nursing•RN•MS Oncology Job Type Travel A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse on a dynamic Blood Cancer Oncology unit. This position requires providing advanced care to oncology patients in a dedicated environment recognized for excellence, teamwork, and ongoing professional achievement.
Schedule:
7:00 PM•7:00
AM Qualifications:
Active RN license BLS certification Minimum of one year of current hospital acute care oncology nursing experience Strong adaptability and quick learning skills Compassionate approach to oncology and patients with chronic conditions
Preferred Experience:
Chemo and biotherapy certification Prior step-down or acute hematology experience Familiarity with standing orders and high-acuity patient care Experience with EMR, especially
Meditech Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive care to oncology patients on an 18-bed unit, consistently maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1 Administer numerous medications, blood products, and electrolyte replacements Collaborate closely with a supportive team of RNs and CNAs, maintaining effective communication and teamwork on night shifts Participate in procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis (with and without conscious sedation) Ensure safe handling of hazardous drugs and excreta per unit guidelines (education provided) Uphold the highest standards in evidence-based care, patient safety, and documentation
