This role is ideal for nursing professionals who are passionate about surgical care, patient safety, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes throughout the surgical process. About the Role The Operating Room RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals, this position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical care. Responsibilities Conduct preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures Verify patient information, procedure details, and surgical sites according to established safety standards Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and prescribed treatments Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and perioperative care activities Support surgical teams during procedures while maintaining a safe and sterile environment Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to emergencies or changes in status Participate in surgical safety protocols, including procedure verification and operative time-outs Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Educate patients and family members regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative instructions Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation Promote infection prevention, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement efforts within the surgical setting Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Previous operating room or perioperative nursing experience preferred Advanced life support certifications preferred or ability to obtain Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Benefits Competitive compensation package Health and wellness benefits Retirement savings opportunities Paid time off and leave programs Continuing education and certification support Professional development and advancement opportunities Employee assistance and wellness resources How to Apply Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their resume to: Please complete the online application to be considered.
