Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and licensed nurse (RN or LPN) to join our team in a short-shift evening role, primarily supporting medication pass and resident care needs during a key transition time in the day. This position offers a consistent 4-hour shift, providing an excellent opportunity for nurses seeking supplemental income, schedule flexibility, or reduced-hour commitments. The Evening Support Nurse will focus on safe and accurate medication administration, supporting resident care, and assisting the nursing team during the evening hours. This role plays an important part in maintaining timely medication delivery, ensuring continuity of care, and providing additional clinical support.
Shift Availability:
Evenings
- 6pm•10pm (PT) Monday•Friday Weekend Available if desired.
Consistent schedule. No overnight. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physiology evaluations, and medical history reviews to develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information meticulously, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct venipuncture and IV insertions with precision to facilitate treatment needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and post-acute care settings to coordinate patient care strategies. Monitor and record patient responses during procedures such as surgery or emergency interventions within the operating room (OR) or urgent care environments. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology and anatomy to support accurate patient assessments and documentation. Ensure infection control standards are upheld through diligent adherence to safety protocols in infectious disease care environments. Support patient education initiatives related to medication administration, recovery processes, and health maintenance. Experience Background in acute patient management. Demonstrated ability to perform IV insertions, venipuncture, medication administration, and vital signs measurement accurately. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems for efficient medical documentation and record-keeping. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for comprehensive patient assessment and care planning. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, and post-acute/sub-acute care settings is a plus. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
