Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and health services to students in accordance with school policies and state regulations.
- Assess, monitor, and respond to student health needs and medical concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans and emergency care plans.
- Provide staff training on CPR, First Aid, Delegation of Duties, and other health-related procedures.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and healthcare professionals to support student well-being.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
- Promote health education, safety, and wellness initiatives within the school community.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Special Services - School Nurse License required.
- Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification required.
- Previous school nursing, pediatric, public health, or clinical experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Skills:
- Strong clinical and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to train and educate school staff on health-related procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
