Job Description

A hospital in Montrose is seeking a skilled Same Day Surgery / PACU Registered Nurse to join its perioperative services team. This dayshift role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate perioperative care. Position Overview The Same Day Surgery / PACU RN provides both preoperative and post-anesthesia care for patients undergoing outpatient and same day surgical procedures. This role focuses on closely monitoring patients as they recover from anesthesia, managing pain and post-operative symptoms, and ensuring safe and timely discharge readiness in coordination with the surgical team. Key Responsibilities Provide preoperative and post-anesthesia care for surgical patients. Monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures. Assess and manage pain, vital signs, and post-operative status. Support safe and efficient discharge planning and patient readiness. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Respond quickly to changes in patient condition in a recovery setting. Promote patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience in same day surgery, PACU, or perioperative care preferred. Active Registered Nurse license in good standing. Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment. Commitment to patient safety and high-quality perioperative care.
