1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and specialized certifications including EFM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate. Details Labor & Delivery unit in a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital High-risk antepartum and obstetrical patient population with 200-300 facility births per month Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (0700-1930) Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus 2 Fridays and 2 Thursdays per 6-week schedule On-call may be required as needed by the department
EMR:
Epic (any prior EMR experience accepted) Orientation held every other Monday on campus Requirements Active CT or Compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM, AWHONN
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and FHM Experience in a teaching hospital L&D setting required Obstetrical triage experience required Experience with IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration required IV therapy experience required, including central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) Medication administration experience required: anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy L&D procedural skills required: assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering for C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols required Candidates must not have any priors on their nursing license 1 professional reference required for consideration Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Former permanent staff of this facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility Free parking is available in any unrestricted space COVID vaccine exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only
