Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team. In this role you will be providing high quality care in the pre-op, intra-op and post-op endoscopic areas. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced outpatient ambulatory care setting. Mon-Friday-no weekends with shifts varying from 6am-4:30pm. Responsibilities Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by explaining the process, assessing their condition and obtaining their medical history and placing an IV catheter Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, including assisting with instruments and performing collection of specimens Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, providing immediate intervention if necessary. Maintain strict infection control standards to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Operate and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly before and after procedures. Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and procedural details accurately in EPIC Educate patients on post-procedure care, medication administration, and follow-up requirements to promote recovery and well-being. Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications:

A valid RN license in CT A minimum of 3 years nursing experience Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic for accurate documentation. Experience in an Endoscopy Setting preferred but not required Pre-op and PACU experience preferred but not required Skilled in IV placement required BLS and ACLS trained Familiarity with advanced clinical skills including airway management and sedation monitoring. Ability to perform patient assessments quickly and accurately while maintaining compassionate communication.
