Hour Night Shift Description:
At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. Minimum Qualifications Education:
Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred.
Licensure:
Current and valid Connecticut RN license.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting.
Certifications:
BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Position Highlights:
Full Time:
3hrs/week-Night Shift-2-12 Hour shifts then 3-12 Hour Shifts Rotating 3rd Weekend/ Every other Holiday This is an hourly position, included in the RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.
Key Responsibilities Patient Monitoring:
Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.
Medication Administration:
Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.
Patient & Family Education:
Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
