Job Description

Description:
  • At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment.
These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. If you're passionate about oncology and want to make a meaningful impact, this could be the career for you.
  • Minimum Qualifications

Education:
.Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred. •.
Licensure:
.Current and valid Connecticut RN license. •.
Experience:
.Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting. •.
Certifications:
.BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

  • : •Full-time 36 hours, Night•.
12-hour shifts- 7p to 7:30a
  • .Schedule Weekend & Holidays are required.
  • Key Responsibilities

Patient Monitoring:
  • Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.

Medication Administration:
  • Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.

Patient & Family Education:
  • Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.
•.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
  • Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
