Description:
- At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment.
- Minimum Qualifications
Education:
.Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred. •.Licensure:
.Current and valid Connecticut RN license. •.Experience:
.Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting. •.Certifications:
.BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.- Work Schedule

- Key Responsibilities
Patient Monitoring:
- Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.
Medication Administration:
- Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.
Patient & Family Education:
- Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
