Nursing Supervisor - Elementary School District

SUMMARY The Nursing Supervisor provides coordination, supervision and evaluation of nursing services for the Woodbridge School District, a PreK-6 school district of approximately 170 permanent active employees and approximately 870 students, as well as direct school nursing services as a member of the nursing team at Beecher Road School.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and implements school health services protocols for district students, employees, and visitors, including as related to required health assessments and immunizations Coordinates standing orders and supplies for medications and emergency medical conditions in consultation with District Medical Advisor Develops and implements health services professional development for district staff in adherence with federal and state statutes, health and safety regulations, and district policies and procedures Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates nursing staff in adherence with federal and state statutes, health and safety regulations, and district policies and procedures Provides direct school nursing services in adherence with federal and state statutes, health and safety regulations, and district policies and procedures Collaborates with district administrators, school staff, District Medical Advisor, and local health department in relation to health needs of the district, its students, and its staff Develops and monitors district budget for nursing services Serves as custodian of school health records in adherence with federal and state statutes, health and safety regulations, and district policies and procedures

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required:

Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Connecticut, with up-to-date CPR certification At least three (3) years of full-time school health services experience

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing Prior school health services supervisory experience

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This position is a full-time, school-year unaffiliated position at an hourly rate of $47.00. Additional compensation for duties outside the school year may be available. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Office of the Superintendent for additional information.
