Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a difference this summer in a dynamic school environment supporting students as a Registered Nurse. This contract opportunity is designed for a nurse who is passionate about working with children and has experience in school settings. The assignment runs from July 18 to June 17, with the potential to continue during the next school year. The role focuses on providing high-quality nursing care during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. You'll work on-site Monday through Thursday afternoons (2:00-6:00 pm), with full days on Fridays (9:00 am-6:00 pm) due to field trips. The position centers on supporting students with a range of health needs, including those who are medically fragile.
Key Qualifications:
Valid RN license Experience in school nursing or pediatric care Comfortable providing care for students with complex medical needs (medically fragile, wheelchair users, diabetic management, seizure control, diapering/changing) Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and health professionals Current CPR/BLS certification
Responsibilities:
Deliver skilled nursing care to students during school hours and field trips Monitor and manage health concerns, including diabetes management and seizure response Assist with mobility, personal care, and hygiene (diapering/changing) for students using wheelchairs or with physical disabilities Ensure medication administration and documentation in accordance with school policies Collaborate with teachers and staff to support inclusive, safe learning environments Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding student needs If you have a heart for children and thrive in fast-paced, supportive environments, this contract opportunity could be the perfect fit.
