In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders, promoting recovery, resilience, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse patient populations across various care settings. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status examinations, and substance use evaluations to develop individualized care plans. Administer medications with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Monitor patient progress through continuous observation, documentation of symptoms, and response to interventions, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients Provide education on medication management, coping strategies, relapse prevention, and health coaching tailored to behavioral health needs. Manage emergency situations including acute pain episodes or psychiatric crises using de-escalation techniques and airway management when necessary. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice. Proven experience working with individuals with substance abuse, or in behavioral health settings Knowledge of mental health disorders, substance use treatment modalities is highly desirable. Competency in medication administration and medication reconciliation procedures. Ability to perform mental and physical examinations and assessments with precision Excellent communication skills for patient education, case management coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus.
