  • CVOR, you will be responsible for managing complex surgical cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
This position is designed for motivated professionals eager to expand their expertise while making a meaningful impact on patient health. Duties Prepare the CVOR suite by ensuring all surgical equipment, supplies, and sterile techniques are meticulously maintained and ready for procedures. Assist surgeons during cardiovascular surgeries by providing expert support with instrumentation, suturing, and intraoperative management. Monitor patient vital signs continuously, assess physiological responses, and respond promptly to any deviations or emergencies. Administer medications such as anesthesia agents or vasoactive drugs under physician supervision, ensuring precise dosing and documentation. Collaborate with anesthesiology teams to optimize airway management and ventilator settings during complex cardiac procedures. Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support preoperative assessments and postoperative care planning, including patient education on recovery protocols. Implement infection control protocols rigorously to prevent contamination and ensure aseptic technique throughout all procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to trauma medicine, acute pain management, or infection control standards. Engage in continuous professional development by staying current with advances in cardiac catheterization techniques, ICD coding updates, and emerging surgical technologies. Skills Proven experience working within Level I Trauma Centers or high-acuity hospital environments specializing in cardiac surgery. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology, anesthesia, and surgical procedures. Expertise in sterile processing, suturing techniques, catheterization procedures, and ventilator management. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs monitoring and physiological evaluations. Skilled in medication administration including IV infusion therapy and injection techniques; competent in venipuncture and catheter care. Familiarity with ICD-10 coding practices for accurate documentation of procedures and diagnoses. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff. Knowledge of infection control standards aligned with NCQA standards; understanding of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases. Capable of managing acute care situations involving trauma medicine or emergency room scenarios efficiently and confidently.
