We have an exciting opportunity for you to join HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. Job Summary and Qualifications One of the most beneficial aspects of working on Inpatient Rehabilitation is being able to see the progression of our patients. We're with our patients for over 12 days from start to finish of their journey and the last step before they return to their lives. While many specialties focus on a single medical need of a patient - such as the patient's cardiac function or renal function - we take a comprehensive view, considering both the patient's medical needs and their functional needs. We ask questions such as, 'How many stairs do you have in your home? Is your bedroom on the first floor or the second floor? Who cooks your meals, who does your laundry?' Being able to have a window in our patients' lives and fully understand the impact we're making is very special." Jack, Inpatient Rehab RN at HCA Healthcare If you're drawn to caring for patients' medical and functional healthcare needs, longer patient relationships, and a collaborative environment with a skilled interdisciplinary team where your insights into a patient's progress play a crucial role to their ongoing plan of care, then Inpatient Rehabilitation may be the perfect fit for you. As a Resident I Nurse on Inpatient Rehabilitation, you'll support patients in their "what's next" journey—helping them regain independence after an illness or injury. You'll provide medical acute care and use innovative tools like simulated home environments and cognitive rehab software to aid your patients' functional progress. You will educate patients and their families on their medical progress and strategies to support them in regaining independence. Working closely with physicians, PT, OT, Speech Therapy, and Case Management, you'll be a part of team conferences to assess progress and plan next steps. With an average patient stay of 2-3 weeks, you'll have the chance to impact patients in a manner many will never forget and witness each patient's tangible progress from admission to discharge.
