Reporting Relationship IV Operations Manager Position Requirements:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida. CPR certification-active. Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent customer service skills. Possess strong organizational and process skills. Demonstrate the ability to work well with all staff levels and with varied personalities. Strong infusion clinical background. Have the ability to work well under pressure and continually multi-task. Minimum of one year's experience in IV therapy or related field. Previous home infusion therapy experience strongly recommended. Duties and Responsibilities Assess the specific infusion therapy needs of the patient. Instruct the patient and caregiver on home infusion therapy and assess their ability to perform therapy independently. Determine nursing care priorities and complete nursing procedures as required. Inserts intravenous cannulas; administers prescribed intravenous solutions and medications and maintains infusion sites and systems; evaluates response to prescribed therapy. Inserts subcutaneous administration set(s); administers prescribed subcutaneous solutions and medications and maintains infusion sites and systems; evaluates response to the prescribed therapy. Admixing of prescribed medications. Adhere to strict infection control and safety compliance procedures. Constant monitoring of the patient throughout entire treatment. Coordinates patient care with all departments. Makes initial visits, processes orders, and notifies physician of patient needs and changes in condition. Initiates care planning, and completes certification/recertification orders and discharge summaries as needed. Regularly re-evaluates the needs of the patient. Counsels with the patient and family/significant others on nursing, teaching and related needs. Understands and adheres to established company policies and procedures and provides infusion therapy procedures in accordance with physicians' orders and the policies and procedures. Completes required nursing documentation for each patient visit/communication in accordance with policy. Initiates appropriate preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Maintains proficiency in the skills and theory of all types of infusion therapies by reviewing the literature and attending seminars, in-services and conferences. Participates in peer review and Performance Improvement as assigned. Participates in review of clinical records as assigned. Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and all applicable laws, including HIPAA regulations for the protection of sensitive information. Perform any additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.
