Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with experience to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert pediatric care, working closely with children and their families to promote health, manage acute and chronic conditions, and support developmental milestones. Your expertise will help ensure that our young patients receive comprehensive, family-centered care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while advancing your clinical skills across diverse pediatric specialties. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments of pediatric patients across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, IV infusions, and wound suturing when necessary. Manage acute conditions such as infections, injuries, and pain through evidence-based interventions like pain management protocols and airway management techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for complex cases involving behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or chronic illnesses such as gastroenterology or infectious disease care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on topics like nutrition, disease prevention, medication adherence, and developmental milestones to empower families in managing their child's health. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance pediatric care standards and outcomes. Skills Proven experience working with children in clinical settings such as pediatrics, neonatal intensive care units (NICU), PICU, or pediatric emergency rooms. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with Athenahealth is a plus. Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to primary care and specialty areas such as gastroenterology or behavioral health. Skilled in performing procedures including IV insertion, venipuncture, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques. Ability to triage urgent cases effectively while demonstrating critical thinking in high-pressure environments like Level I Trauma Centers or emergency medicine settings. Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote pediatric consultations confidently. Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of ICD-10 coding standards is essential for accurate documentation. Excellent communication skills to educate families clearly and collaborate seamlessly with healthcare teams across inpatient and outpatient settings.
